Lost and Damaged Luggage
Luggage is considered lost after 21 days, after which time you are entitled to financial compensation. In EU, your compensation can be up to 1,220 €, but in the US this amount ranges from 1,525 $ to 3,500 $.
Damaged luggage
If your luggage arrives damaged
upon arrival, start dealing with it
as soon as possible.
Don't forget to take pictures of your luggage and the damage.
Prepare your boarding pass and proof of checked baggage.
Report the damage as soon as possible, within 7 days at most.
Fill out the Property Irregularity Report claim form.
Delayed baggage
If your luggage is missing after arrival,
in the first stage your luggage is considered delayed.
Fill out the Property Irregularity Report and request a copy.
Track the status of your luggage using the reference number, that will be assigned to you.
Keep receipts from new things that are necessary for your personal use.
This includes things like toiletries, clothes or underwear that you had in your lost luggage and that you really can't do without for a few days.
After submission request, the airline will reimburse you for these expenses.
If the airline does not deliver your luggage to you within 21 days, the status of the luggage will change from delayed to lost.
